How Does It Work?
Contact Us, We Quote, You Send Us Your Books
Get in touch with details of your project; number of books, pages, and approximate sizes. We will go through all of the details with you and outline what can be achieved along with an estimate of the costs.
When you are happy, send us your books (specialist courier service available) alternatively we can come and digitise your items at your premises.
Storing Your Items at Our Premises
Specific insurance can be arranged to cover your materials whilst at our offices.
All items are handled by trained technicians adhering to strict archival procedures, and are stored in a secure, controlled environment.
We Digitise - From £1 per page
Each item is assessed to ensure that we use the most appropriate digitising technique and equipment allowing the highest possible end result whilst exceed industry archival standards.
We use state of the art equipment, including archival quality, colour balanced lighting and v-cradles where necessary to ensure that the original books are fully supported and protected during the digitising process.
We can scan items of almost any size to a very high resolution and are able to provide you with output files of any format you require (TIFF, JPEG, PDF…).
We are able to also able to provide OCR pdfs for scans including text if required.
Colour Matching & Optional Enhancement & Restoration:
All digital files are colour corrected as standard using colour calibrated screens to ensure a close match to the originals as possible.
We are able to call on our 40 years experience as photographers to offer you the highest quality enhancement and restoration service should you wish us to return any damaged, scanned, images to their former glory.
We Send Over Your Digital Images
We send you digital images in indexed folders either via a secure download link or on a memory stick or hard drive.
We are also able to provide you with your own secure proofing webpage or a digital book to allow you to flick through your books virtually on your computer and to share with your friends and family (click here for example).
Printing & Binding Your New Copies
We have 40 years of experience in printing and binding with our sister company Locketts (www.locketts.co.uk), and use all of this to ensure that we provide the highest quality end product, made by hand by our bookbinders in the UK to last a lifetime.
We are not only able to produce exact replicas of your originals, including all of the most complex binding techniques but we can also produce more affordable digital printed replicas as well as different sized duplicates in a whole host of different colours and finishes.
We can also restore your original albums to their former glory.
Our Book Binders have been in the business for over 100 years and can make your original albums looks as good as new.
